Happy 10 Month Birthday Jackson!

Okay, so I think I missed posting on Jack's 10 month birthday. Even worse...I think I forgot to take pictures!! But I took some the day before and the day after - so I'm covered!

Here are a bunch of recent photos. The weather took a turn for the 'beautiful' this weekend so we went to White Rock for a walk. It was soooooo nice!

Then this past Monday I had a playdate with the prenatal group. Not sure if I blogged about this before - but the girls threw me a going away party a few weeks ago. Just mommies were invited - we had dinner, then back to one of the houses for cake and visiting and they made me a scrapbook complete with pictures from the previous playdates and each girl put a photo of their little family and wrote some nice comments. It was really touching and it made me cry (then I made them cry...aha...we're even!). We have one more playdate planned before I depart for freezing cold Edmonton. I'm sure going to miss them and the babies...I can't believe how grown up they all are!

The babies (left to right: Lauren, Jack, Noah, Jacob...there were 4 kiddo missing)

Jack at our playdate - discovering the baby gate and trying to shake it loose!

Jack's "drinking buddy"!!! Jack and Noah are the two oldest babies in the prenatal group (Noah is 5 days older...even though his mom and I were almost a full month apart in due dates!). Jack tried to 'sample' Noah's sippy cup so I gave Jack his, then Noah was interested in Jack's. It was all very cute. Later on Jack crawled around and tried to steal every baby's cookies and was successful some of the time.

Jack at our playdate! His hair is still as fuzzy as ever!

The kids were all good for the most part. But for a lot of them it was the first time around other babies when they were all so mobile. This is Jack poking Jacob ('JJ') in the eye. There was no crying or anything...so Jack wasn't being mean...he was just exploring!! Jack got his fair share - one of the babies kept using his jeans to pull herself up and they were all crawling over each other - like they didn't even notice each other other than a 'speed bump' that they had to get over. It was really very cute:)

Here is Jack playing with his Little People car garage that he got from Grandma and Grandpa W. this Christmas. He seems to enjoy his new 'big boy' toy.

One of the woman in the prenatal group is an excellent photographer. She always seems to capture the perfect moment. This is one of her photos.

Another one of her photos. This is very 'typical' Jack...always looking around whatever is in his way to see what he's missing. "Peek!!!"

Blair 'Jack' Project

Just Jack!

Here are some recent pictures of Jack. He is such a goofball when the camera comes out. He loves to pose and smile for the camera...but is still really funny once I take one picture with a flash he squints his eyes and anticipates the flash for every other photo. So I only really have one chance at taking a photo if I have to use a flash. What a nut!!

About a month or two ago we started reading him a story before bed. Jack LOVES IT! He even has some favorite stories..."Where is Baby's Belly Button" and "How Many Kisses do you Want Tonight". He is really cute when we're reading to him especially when he's really tired because his eyes start to get droopy and he just snuggles in and gets ready to go to sleep.

We had a few beautiful days in January (maybe it was more like a couple beautiful weeks...) so I took Jack to the park and tried him in the swing. He LOVES IT!!! These pictures were taken the second time he was ever in the swing (I didn't have my camera the first time). Benson runs around the park and tries to catch squirrels while Jack swings. The first time Jack was in the swing Benson tried to chase him and play but he got bonked in the head a couple times so he realized that chasing squirrels was a much better plan!

LOVES IT!!

I love this photo. Jack just is so inquisitive these days and he is so happy to see the pets, especially now that he can chase them. The pets are both being very patient but I think Benson is taking it the hardest - now that he realizes Jack is going to be a big person not just a baby. But Jack loves his puppy...hopefully they'll be good buddies for a long time.

What will he be up to next???

So today Jack started pulling himself up on things. He was sort of able to get on both feet but not really stand earlier this week...but now he's doing it no problem! About 30 seconds after he did it the first time he let go with one hand...and then later in the day he decided to try let go with both hands! Anyway - here is a little video of him doing it a couple times...I'm constantly amazed at how fast he (or any babies) get at doing things...it takes forever to get started and the first one or two times are very tentative (i.e. crawling, sitting up, standing up, etc.) then they start doing it like they've been doing it their whole lives! It's so interesting watch (well...for me anyway).

Oh and if you watch closely you can see him bopping to the music sometimes. You actually hear me laughing at it towards the end of the video. (Note: the music is by a new artist called Sara Bareilles...she is AWESOME...if you haven't heard her before I highly highly recommend downloading or buying some of her stuff...she is really really good).

Just Video

I've been a bad blogger lately! Here is a video to keep you interested...I'll post some pics before the end of the weekend!!

This video is of him 'really' crawling the first day he 'really' crawled. He made crawling type movements and maybe managed to move a foot or so but here...he's doing the real deal!
