We finally got a date for Jack's eye surgery...at this point it's planned for Monday May 25. So we'll go to the hospital, hang around for a while, he'll have his surgery which takes less than an hour, then we go the day surgery unit where they observe him for about 4 hours or so and then home we go. Apparently he's supposed to be running around like nothing happened by the next day!
Cool thing is that the surgery will be at the hospital I work at...not that I will get (or expect) any special treatment...it'll just be nice to come to a familiar place!
I say the OB yesterday...I'm about 33 weeks (yikes!)...everything is good...she says my belly is the "perfect size" whatever that means...I'll trust her expert opinion but honest - it's too big, give that I still have 7 weeks to go.
We're moving Jack to a 'big boy bed' this weekend. Tonight will be his last night in the crib (double yikes). He's really enjoyed using the 'big boy booster seat' and eating at the table with us over the last week so hopefully he'll feel the same about his bed. When we took the high chair away he say "bye bye" and when we asked who uses high chairs he said "baby". When we asked who uses the crib he said "Jack" and when we asked if he wanted a big boy bed he said "no no no". So we'll see how it goes!
Setting up the big boy bed in Jack's room means that we will be getting started setting up the baby's room. Not much to set up really...just move the crib there - and get some clothes washed and ready. We intend to paint the room (currently it's a browny pinky color...not as bad as it sounds) but I think we're going to go brown'ish this time...I just don't feel like having another green baby room (Jack's room in Cloverdale was green...I liked it but got tired of it...his room is blue right now...it was that color when we moved in which was very convenient for us!).
We're getting the main two floors of the house painted by the end of March. We got the ceilings done a few weeks ago and are just in the process of filling and patching some holes on the wall before the painters come in. We have one big mess to fill - where the 'telephone table' was in the kitchen...we ripped it out and put a cupboard there instead many months ago. But other than that the walls are looking pretty good compared to what we had to deal with in Cloverdale!
Hmmmm...that's really it. Just thought I'd put a few things out there so you all know what's going on!

I'll be bloggin' in 2 months...
It's much faster to post pic's on Facebook so I just uploaded 2 new albums for summer 2008 and then fall/winter 2008/09. I still have to upload some photos from our recent visit to Vancouver...but be patient!!!
I assure you I'll be blogging soon enough. I'm going on maternity leave again in April 2009...so I'll probably be on Facebook 12 times a day and on the blog daily!! For those that don't know my due date is April 17...but I'm off work around April 3...I cannot believe it's just around the corner! No idea if it's a boy or girl but if I had to guess I'm leaning towards boy...there...I've said it - you can refer back to this post if I'm wrong to laugh at my bad guessing:)
It feels a bit like baby mania...we got to see our new (ish) nephew Liam when we went back to Vancouver - he was 4months+ when we saw him but he small and cute and cuddly...definitely still a cutie pie baby! Our friends Amber/Alan are expecting in August (congrats!!) and Barbara-Ann and Dan are expecting in August as well. And two of Ian's cousines are due in June...yeah...babies babies babies...how exciting!
See you all soon:)
