Hamming it up for the camera...that's our boy!

Oh - are you taking pictures??? Hold on, let me get ready.....

Here is my first pose...I call it Blue Steel...

Okay, okay, it's too hard to be serious - this is way to funny....

Instructions for getting a picture of me as cute as this:
1) Have a good nap
2) Eat until belly is full
3) Big burps
4) Get diaper changed
5) A little bit of snuggles and cuddles from Mom
6) Lay on the floor and do cute things until Mom gets the camera out

Oh my goodness, I can't believe Dad let Mom put me in the dorky hat (Mom loves it...but she's a girl, what does she know). I guess I'll just drown my sorrows in this soother....suck suck suck...

Father's Day!

All of our families got together to celebrate Father's Day at John and Marianna's house (Ian's parents). By 'all' I mean my parents (Leslie and Roman) and Christina's parents (Lorne and Carol)...Christina is my sister in law, married to Ian's brother Andrew for almost one year (soon!). The grandparents always seem so excited to see their new grandson...which is good 'cause Mom and Dad might want to go on a date sometime soon:)

Sadly, we didn't get a picture of Ian and Jackson on his first Father's Day - we're just not very good at coordinating that sort of stuff! But here is one of me and my boy...he's really started smiling and sort of laughing the last few days...it's quite fun and cute!

And - here is Ian's brother Alex (for those that don't really know Ian's family...he has 3 brothers...Ian is the oldest, then Alex, then Andrew then Darren...you don't see any pic's of Darren because he is living in Germany!). Alex isn't a Dad yet, but he's already displaying true 'parent' signs...learning how to sleep with the baby sleeps - and to sleep while holding the baby and in a sitting position too!!

And here is my sister in law Christina (on the right) and her mom Carol. Poor Christina and Andrew...they thought that when Ian and I had Jackson the pressure would be off...but after yesterday I think the pressure has gotten worse!! Christina's folks seemed awfully excited to have a baby around again!

Father's Day proved quite tiring for our little guy. Must be nice to sleep anywhere!!

Happy 2 Month Birthday Jackson!

Today Jackson is 2 months old! My oh my how the time flies by! I don't really think he's changed too much in the last two months...except that he's not so wrinkly and he's filled out a bit (and I'm pretty sure he's almost 12lbs now...not the official weight, but based on our home scale he's right around there...4 pounds in 2 months most people would be freaking out if that happened to them!)

We had a little visit with Baba this weekend (Ian's mom - Marianna). Jack slept for the first half of the visit then was a fuss pot for the second half. I keep telling him he needs to be on his best behaviour around Baba...so he can score extra kolbassa and perogies when he gets older (and then pass them along to mom and dad) :)

And just to keep things real, here is the face we see fairly frequently. He still isn't smiling a whole lot...he 'coos' and 'oohs' at things and we sometimes get a little smile or a half smile...he's quite the serious baby. But when he pouts - I'm telling you he's got the lip and the eyes down pat! He's had this 'perfect' pout since he was born...I guess Mom and Dad just aren't that exciting!

Happy 2 month birthday Jackson!
Love Mom and Dad.

Our friends Amber and Alan and their kids, Kyla and Isabelle, came for a short visit this morning. They live in Calgary and are in town for the weekend. I know Amber from high school and she was a bridesmaid at our wedding.

Their daughter Isabelle is not quite 2 yet, and second daughter Kyla was born a mere week and bit after Jackson. During our visit I think Ian and I saw a flash forward to the future...having a baby and toddler sure looks busy! And having 3 together...whew, it was crazy!! But both Alan and Amber look great...so either they were faking it really well for us, or they have it under control!

Anyway, it was really neat to see Kyla and Jackson together...she's still so tiny (or feels like it compared to Jackson's 10lb+ girth!!).

On a completely non-baby related note...here is a picture of our garden and new back fence. Our new neighbors (behind us) decided to replace their entire fence...this one is much more private than we had before...and its 7 1/2 feet tall!! We still have to stain it...I say 'we' but I can only reach the bottom part...so maybe I'll get out of doing it altogether (we just stained the rest of the fence 2 summers ago...it took forever...ugh...I'm not looking forward to doing any more any time soon).

Our garden has a little fence and gate around it to keep the dog out. Ian just put the seeds in 2 weeks ago - we aren't organized enough to start them indoors then transplant them...seems like too much work. We actually got radishes sprouting about 6 days after we planted them. (the little row of green you can see in the picture is the radish row)..we had really good success with radishes last year as well...too bad I don't like radishes:( We also noticed today that some squash and peas have started to grow...and we think leeks and green onions - but it might be weeds, so we have to wait and see:)

I realized I'm surrounded by boys in this house! Perhaps that's good...I get to do all the 'girly' stuff without anyone getting in the way...haha!

The picture of Jackson in the slideshow in all orange is his unofficial 'official' BC Lions fan outfit. His great-uncle Allan actually bought him a real BC Lions sleeper with the logo and a football on the bum...but it's a little big, so we'll save it for the end of this season and post pictures then. For now, he's got the orange socks, the orange shirt, and the cargo pants with orange stitching (Ian wants to put a number on the shirt but we're not sure if we should go with the number for Paris Jackson, or 'Action' Jackson...stay tuned for our decision!). I supposed I went overboard with the sunglasses...but they were so darn cute I couldn't resist.
